The Toy Factory Lofts building was completed in 1924 for the Star Truck Warehousing Company by the Western Land Improvement Company, the land development arm of the Santa Fe Railroad. In 2006, the building was converted to live-work lofts.

Craig Lawson & Co., LLC has prepared and processed the land use entitlements for the majority of the completed projects in the Arts District area of Downtown Los Angeles. This projects utilizes the unique industrial character of the building to create joint living and work environments with large open floor plans, high ceilings, and oversized windows.
